Add a little honey butter to your life. You deserve it. Smother on rolls, flaky biscuits, or even homemade bread. I love to make this as a little treat to serve with rolls after dinner when I have guests over.
If you want to make it super fancy, you can make your own butter. All you need is heavy cream.

Why My Recipe
- Keeping our fluff in the butter, not in the post.
Flavor Variations
Cinnamon Honey: Simply add 2 teaspoons of cinnamon and mix it in for a subtle hint of spice and warmth.
Vanilla Bean: For a gourmet touch, add a whole vanilla bean (scraped to extract the inside) or use a teaspoon of vanilla extract as an alternative.
Sweet and Spicy: Add a little spice to your life! For those who love a little heat, simply add hot honey in place of regular honey. If you don’t already have hot honey on hand, you can add a dash (or more) of hot sauce.
Ingredient Notes
- Butter: always use softened butter or your arm will get a good workout. If the butter is not softened enough, it can look a little lumpy. Make it smoother by continuing to stir.
- Honey: use whatever flavor of honey you prefer. You could use maple syrup for a maple butter twist.
Fork or Hand Mixer
We tested all the different ways to stir this together. A fork was our favorite for easy honey butter.
You could also use a hand mixer for a lighter, whipped honey butter that is effortless to spread.
Storage Instructions
Store at room temperature in an airtight container like a mason jar for up to 3 days.
Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 1 month.
Freeze wrapped tightly in plastic wrap and an additional layer of aluminum foil for up to 6 months.
This is so good with home made bread right out of the oven.
Your recipes and suggestions have been invaluable to me. You also add a touch of seriousness and class. Keep up the good work!
Awww thank you!
Because Iโam plant base I cook with that type of butter, I would love to add pure maple syrup, especially on a toasted English muffin.
