Classic Ham Salad has the perfect blend of salty, creamy, crunchy, and so much flavor! We love this as a dip served with crackers, and especially on a croissant sandwich.
We love these classic American recipes from the 50s. Just one bite and youโll be reminiscing over ham salad lunches with grandma on her back porch drinking sun tea. Honestly, we just love the simplicity in the ingredients and how easily this comes together. Some quick meals just arenโt as satisfying, but classic ham salad will not disappoint.
Ham Salad is extremely versatile. It is super popular served up as a dip with your favorite crackers or bread. However, there is nothing quite like a ham salad croissanโwich. If youโre looking for a healthier option, we love the additional crunch when made into a lettuce wrap.
Can I use leftover cooked ham?
Yes, this recipe is a great way to use up leftover cooked ham.
Can I use a food processor to blend this all together?
Definitely. If you like a smoother texture, go ahead and pulse all of this together in a food processor. If you like more of a crunch from the onion and relish, skip the processor and mix by hand.
Storage Instructions:

Thank you, Rachel! I made this the other day and served it on Latvian sourdough rye bread. It was so delicious and couldn’t stop making more sandwiches for myself!
Love your Recipes easy to fix THANKS ๐ฆ
This was my first attempt at ham salad & it was very easy, family loved it & I found a new way to finish off that Easter Ham!
Pretty good. I halved the amount of onion & used onion powder instead. I also left out the salt & served it on Hawaiian rolls to balance out the saltiness.
Sounds good except for adding salt to salty ham
I make mine the same way however I have never put eggs in it. I will have to try this
I work in a Seniors Home and made this for the Residents, they absolutely loved it! Thank you so much fo sharing this, it was a true hit๐
Love this recipe
My family has had a recipe similar to this since the 1950s…. I still use an old hand grinder. It still does the best job for something like this. I just put the ham in last because it cleans it out as it goes through at the end better. Your version sounds wonderful!
My Grandmother Had A Hand Crank For This And Other “Spreads” Just Clamp It To The Counter And Go !
This one sounds so easy and amazing. Love all your recipes and your wonderful smile that goes with them!
