Ingredient Notes

  • Fruity Pebble Cereal: Any brand of fruity cereal will work for this recipe, but Fruity Pebbles give the best burst of color and flavor.
  • Salted Butter: If you only have unsalted butter on hand, just add a pinch of salt to the melted marshmallow mixture.
  • Mini Marshmallows: Mini marshmallows melt quicker and more evenly than large ones. If using large marshmallows, substitute with about 40 regular-sized marshmallows.

At Room Temperature: Store your Rice Krispie Treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. Make sure the container is sealed tightly to keep them fresh and chewy.

Freezing: For longer storage, freeze the treats. Cut them into squares and place them in a single layer on a baking sheet. Freeze until solid, then transfer the squares to a resealable plastic freezer bag. Store frozen for up to 3 months. To enjoy, let them thaw at room temperature for about 15-20 minutes.
