This isn’t your regular ranch dressing, it’s a cool ranch dressing! Ranch dressing is life. Seriously everyone, you could dip just about anything in ranch and it will be instantly better. But after a few decades of our ranch obsession, we’ve decided to play with the flavors a bit and try to improve perfection. This cilantro lime ranch dressing gives you that extra bit of zing and heat for a fun twist on a classic dressing.
Can I use a ranch seasoning packet?
Using a ranch dip packet will work as a substitute for the garlic, onion, salt and pepper. Not all ranch dip packets are the same though and some have added preservatives, thickening agents, or sugars.
Lime Juice:
Freshly squeezed lime juice is always best. However, you can always substitute with 2 tablespoons of store-bought bottled lime juice.
What if my dressing is too thick?
Adding a bit of milk or buttermilk will thin the dressing down but will also cut the shelf life down due to the expiration of the milk.
Can I make cilantro ranch dressing without a blender?
Due to the salsa and cilantro, this would really be better using a blender or a food processor. Theoretically, you could always make it by hand if you diced up the cilantro super fine, but it won’t mix quite as well together without blending.
Spice Level:
You can completely control the spice level in this recipe with the salsa. If you don’t want any spice, choose a mild green salsa. If you prefer more heat, go for a medium or hot. Additionally, you can always add a jalapeno if you want things super hot!
Serving Suggestions:
This dressing goes great on green salads, pasta salads, and taco salads, or you can use it anywhere else you would use regular ranch dressing. Dip your favorite raw veggies to keep it healthy, or even use it as a pizza dip! The possibilities are endless!
Storage Instructions:
Store your dressing in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 10 days.

I have used a brand called La Victoria for years and I really like that brand. They offer a mild and medium variety.
