Strawberry Pineapple Salsa will have everyone raving at your next party! People love the fresh, fruity zing from this tasty fruit salsa!
Summer time is here! Time to break out the salsas, and what better way to do that than with fruit salsa. It combines the goodness of salsa, with the fresh taste of fruit. Doesn’t that just scream summer? I love strawberry salsa, I love pineapple salsa, so why not combine the two? It’s super delicious with a delightfully fresh zing.
How do you choose a pineapple at the grocery store?
First, choose a pineapple that is on the larger size. This will yield more fruit and less waste. Second, gently tug on the top leaves of the pineapple. If they pull out easily, then your pineapple is ripe. Pineapple should not be wrinkled, bruised, or soft at all. These are signs of an overripe or damaged pineapple.
Spice Level:
We love the hint of heat the jalapeรฑo brings to this salsa. You can always omit the jalapeรฑo if you are sensitive to spice, or even add more jalapeรฑo if you want it extra spicy!
Can I use dried cilantro in Strawberry Pineapple Salsa?
In a salsa recipe like this, you really want to use fresh cilantro. Dried simply wonโt be the same.
Storage Instructions:
Store your salsa in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

This was so easy to make is absolutely delicious!
Made this salsa today. So fresh and delicious!
Sounds great but I donโt like the taste of cilantro at all. I know I can substitute parsley but Iโm wondering how substituting fresh basil would be?
That would be a very different flavor profile, I would recommend parsley if you’re not going to do cilantro.
Yes, parsley (even french parsley or otherwise known as chervil) would be a great sub. I like a bit of cumin in my salsas, too. Hope you find the right taste for your Buds!
Cilantro haters lack a certain digestive enzyme, which is why, for them, eating cilantro is like eating soap (eeuuww!). Substitute parsley for the cilantro, & youโll be fine (& the food will be yummy). Regarding basil in your salsa, I am very sensitive to that, too… & get a painful โbasil heartburnโ if I eat more than just a scant amount (e.g., pesto is a big problem). Parsley is the best substitute for me. I would think basil in a salsa would give it an off taste…
Pesto can be made with carrot tops in place of basil.
Basil was actually good when i made it! Cilantro give me a soapy taste in my mouth. Just letting u know it was good!
What about substituting with mint????
It was so good, will continue to make it.
Where I work was having a salsa contest and I was not going to participate until I saw this recipe on Facebook. I knew it was a sign to enter the contest. And I won. Everyone loved it and they have been asking for the recipe so I came to the website to send it to them. It is perfect for summer parties.
BE CONFIDENT that this will be a HIT! I attended a party recently where there were numerous appetizers brought by guests and THIS was the big hit of the evening! I had to find the recipe for myself! Can’t wait to try other dishes by the stay at home chef!!
This looks delish, but i’m not a spicy, hot food person. How hot does the addition of jalepenos make this dish? I like to enjoy foods that don’t set my mouth on fire.
It depends on the jalapeno. Jalapenos vary in how much heat they have to them.
I’m not a “hot” person either, you can use bell peppers instead of the jalapeno, but even though I like things mild to medium, I will add a small bit of jalapeno for flavor……..and they also have MILD jalapenos in some stores.
Just don’t use them, or make sure you remove the seeds and ridges inside them, that’s what it spicey in the pepper.
I bought a couple of tuna steaks and was looking for “something” to dress it up and add a punch of fresh, spicy and sweet flavor for the grilled fish. Oh! Slap your mama! It looked like a fine dining presentation and the salsa really added the punch I was looking for! I was only wanting enough for 4 tuna servings so I just used the ingredients listed but just made the amount i needed without measuring and added more of one thing if it looked like it needed more. I’ll be back for more recipes! Thank you for this keeper!
This would be wonderful served over grilled fish!
Would this work as a bruschetta? I would substitute White Onion for Red Onion, Garlic for the Jalapeno, and Basil instead of Cilantro. Spread on a nice french bread loaf toasted. What do you think?
Sounds delicious!
