You can whip up your very own batch of these tasty treats right at home. Theyโre super simple to make, no chefโs hat required.

Aussie Bites have a chewy and slightly crispy texture, thanks to the combination of oats, quinoa, and dried fruits. They are slightly sweet from the combination of honey, coconut, and apricots. The bites are satisfying and filling, making them a great on-the-go snack option for both adults and children and a great breakfast.
Ingredients & Substitutions
- Rolled Oats: Provide a hearty base and fiber. Quick oats can be used in a pinch, though the texture will differ slightly. Use certified gluten-free oats if needed.
- Dried Apricots and Raisins: Offer natural sweetness and chewiness. Feel free to substitute with any dried fruit like cranberries or dates, but don’t simply omit.
- Seeds and Nuts: Flaxseed, sunflower seeds, and chia seeds add crunch and nutritional value. Swap out or add any seeds or nuts you prefer.
- Canola Oil: This is what they use in the original store-bought Aussie bites. For substitutions, melted coconut oil, melted butter, vegetable oil, or avocado oil can be used
- Quinoa: Adds a unique texture and protein. Both cooked and uncooked quinoa work, with cooked quinoa giving a softer texture.

No Food Processor? No Problem!
If you don’t have a food processor, you can mix the dry ingredients by hand and finely chop the dried fruits and nuts. The texture will be chunkier but just as delicious.

- Cooling: Let bites cool in the pan before moving to a wire rack to help them set.

I just ate the first bite of my homemade Aussie Bites. I thought the Costco ones were good, but freshly made ones are Amazing! Like many others, I made a substitution or two, pecans for sunflower seeds (I forgot to buy them). But that little tweak was perfect. These are going into regular rotation at my house! Fantastic.
Thank you so much for the recipe and taking the time to put it together. I made this today for the second time and changed/added ingredients as follows: Excluded the sugar, used coconut oil instead of Canola, added 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. The addition of the sugar in my opinion made the bites entirely too sweet. This recipe is definitely a keeper and than you again.
This recipe is dangerous! They came out perfectly crispy and golden brown all around the sides, bottom and edges I made this recipe with avocado oil and used a regular muffin pan. I just made these and shoved two full size bites down my gullet. No regrets!

Absolutely delicious!!! Love them so much! I do cooked quinoa, less chia (almond flour instead), more coconut instead of sunflower seeds, only 1T honey plus stevia, etc. This recipe is SO versatile and delicious. Sent it to 5 friends!!
