Greek Yogurt Waffles add some protein and greek yogurt goodness to your morning waffle routine. Give your waffles a healthy touch with this easy breakfast recipe.
Do you guys ever have breakfast for dinner? Because we have breakfast for dinner all the time. I like to keep things interesting and I’m always switching things up. This recipe is the product of my kitchen experimentation. Back in 2013 I decided to do something a little different by making waffles. And thus my greek yogurt waffles were born. It makes me feel better when I lather my waffle with syrup to know that there is a redeeming quality in there somewhere.
I already know what one of your questions will be. And, yes, you can make these with whole wheat flour. They won’t be as fluffy, but it definitely works. It’s a good way to get your whole grains in.
Now I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that I have the most amazing syrup recipe your tastebuds have ever experienced. I call it Liquid Cinnamon Roll Syrup and it is unbelievably delicious. My family can’t get enough of it and we prefer it over any other syrup you could possibly offer us. It is unreal. And dangerous, very dangerous. Syrup will never be the same for you ever again should you choose to try it. Serve it up alongside some candied bacon and I may be banging down your door for a place at your table.
Wonder how you can enjoy this goodness every morning without any hassle? This batter can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for about a week, making breakfast a snap! Just stir a bit before using.

Love this recipe! I use maple syrup instead of honey, do half organic whole wheat flour and half unbleached white, unsweetened vanilla soy milk, add vanilla extract & mini chocolate chips, a tablespoon of hemp hearts and flax per serving. Grateful for a way to add protein in a waffle recipe and my kids all love these.
I usually stay away from making waffles except when my grandkids come, because they love Grandma’s waffles!
These are light, fluffy, not stuffy and truly perfect !
I used Greek non-fat yogurt, and 1%milk. Flavor was not compromised.
I was out of honey, subbed brown sugar, added freshly grated nutmeg and cinnamon.
Will me make waffles more frequent ly. Thank you for sharing!!
Definitely a keeper.
Delicious! I substituted 1/2 the flour with oat flour & still turned out amazing. I have the pickiest eaters.
Delicious. Appreciate the recipe with extra protein.
They are absolutely the best waffles I have ever made
These were good but I have recipes I like better. Still, this is a great way to use plain Greek yogurt. The store didnโt have the brand I like the last time I shopped, so I bought a brand I donโt care for. If I ever have yogurt I donโt want to eat by itself, Iโll make these waffles again.
These waffles are very tasty. I added 3 tbs honey and they were perfect
This recipe works really well. I add one ripe banana instead of honey and use soy milk instead of milk for dairy free one. I also add two scoops/servings of unsweetened protein powder and use kodiak cakes powder (100% whole grain whole wheat kind) instead of regular white flour. I also use whipped 3 eggs white instead of 2 eggs for extra protein boost. The result is good. Carb vs. protein ratio is 1:1 which is an optimal pre workout breakfast.
This recipe begs for butter but other than that it is perfection
I have never reviewed a recipe but Iโve saved this one and used it so many times it only seems right! This recipe is perfect, easy & guiltless. I use oat milk instead, and theyโre great. 10/10 recommend!
Just tried these this morning. They are perfect! I did add a sprinkle of cinnamon as suggested, and the eggs from my chickens were a little smaller so I had to use three. But it tastes amazing and fluffy and my kids didn’t notice the difference!
