This is seriously the Best Baked Ziti Ever. Your family is going to love the homemade meat sauce, and that ricotta and cream cheese topping takes it to the next level!
Baked pasta dishes are something special; they are in their own classification of comfort food, because they are just that dang good. Ziti has been a tradition since the Renaissance, served commonly at special gatherings, weddings, and celebrations. Also known as Ziti al Forno, this traditional oven-baked pasta is more of a method than an exact science. Depending on the region of Italy, it could be a veggie heavy meal, or it could be loaded in hearty meats and fat.
This classic Baked Ziti is all about the simple, whole ingredients. Ziti can be hard to find in stores, but there is something special about the history of Ziti pasta. Made from scratch meat sauce might seem tedious and unnecessary, but make no mistake, your time and effort will be worth it once you take that first bite. Go ahead and serve this up with some garlic bread, and you have yourself a feast!

Does baked ziti need mushrooms?
Not Necessarily. We love the added flavor and texture from the mushrooms, but you can absolutely omit them if you donโt love them.
-
Can I use low-fat cheese?
There are some things that just shouldnโt be messed with, and whole-fat cheese is one of them. In all seriousness, do what you need to do in regards to cheese, but the flavor and texture of whole milk cheese canโt be beat!

Pasta Options:
Ziti is the traditional pasta thatโs been used for this dish, but we know how difficult it can be to find! If you need to substitute, head for the Penne pasta or rigatoni. They are both a similar shape and size, and will work well in this dish.

So so so good
I made this Ziti today using all the ingredients in the recipe and watching your video before starting it. I usually use Prego when I make lasagna but I wanted to make the sauce you use for the Ziti. Itโs absolutely delicious. I shared half the dish with my family and they said itโs very good. You have inspired me to enjoy cooking and itโs fun to share the results with my family. Every recipe I try is so good and fun to make that I look forward to trying the next one. Iโm so happy you were on Facebook so I was able to see the wonderful dishes you make and I like the picture of the food so I can enter the recipes into the Recipe Box App.
Second time making it in a month. So good, so easy! This is the only way we want our baked ziti. Love it!
First of all, you are great!
I have the ziti in the oven.
One pan with beef and other with turkey for my daughter.
I didnt have tomato paste. I hope it still turns out good. So far it smells great!
We tried this recipe and made it exactly as it is printed. Not a fan of that cream cheese in the topping. This made it so rich I had a hard time eating it. We ended up scraping about 3.4 of it off the next morning. Even the sauce was not that great. Sorry for the three stars but this one just was not to our liking.
Delicious. Family loved it!
Loved it ! Made 1 pan cut in half and froze other half! Reheated with small jar of store bought sauce a week later.. excellent!!
Very good.
I made this for guests & it was a hit, as is any recipe I make by The Stay at Home Chef! You never let me down! Love you girl!
Very good
