I sit around with a jar of Nutella and a spoon way more than I would care to admit. I mean, it’s a good thing Costco has such an amazing price on giant jars of Nutella because otherwise I may go bankrupt with my Nutella habit. Actually putting the Nutella in with something makes me feel better about how much I consume. Especially when it involves a whole grain like oatmeal. It’s healthy, right? Well, maybe not with all that sugar and butter, but whatever, it’s better than eating it by the spoonful.
Anyway, I was in one of those moods for dessert, but felt the guilt of the spoon, so I decided to make some peanut butter and Nutella no bake cookies. Oh heavens, it’s way too easy and way too delicious. I took my classic recipe for no bake cookies that I’ve been using for years, and worked in Nutella.
This recipe is super easy to make and is perfect for an adventure in cooking with kids. My kids eat peanut butter Nutella sandwiches as their go-to lunch of choice, so this recipe is right up their alley. The first step in the recipe is on the stove, but I have found that this is a perfect way to introduce kids to the stovetop. All they have to do is stir. Just keep a close eye on them and give them fare warning about the heat and they are good to go! My kids have been cooking on the stove as young as 4. I promise, they can do way more than you think!
Be sure to use old fashioned roll oats in this recipe. I have found that they give a far better texture than instant oats which are a bit too small and powdery. And then there’s steal cut rolled oats that are far too chewy for a no bake cookie.
Watch the video below where I walk you through ever step of this recipe. It is super helpful for visual learners, and hey, kids love watching stuff on YouTube! So if you are going to have your kids cook, have them give it a watch too! I have a huge library of cooking videos over there so feel free to stay a while and check them out!
Has anyone tried this with double the Nutella and no peanut butter? If so, how did it turn out? I’m wondering if it’s too sweet. I’m assuming it would set up, although it might require another minute or so of cooking.
Love how chewy they are! but could i bake the cookies to make them crispier / crunchier?
No bake cookies are not meant to be crispy and baking them will most likely result in a mess.
These came out perfect! And I used margarine instead of butter incase that’s all you got… Thanks for the recipe!
Made these tonight and they turned out perfect and so easy to make! Love the flavor of Nutella in them.
Very easy
i will try this recipe but i have one i do for Christmas that’s great and easy 1package of block white chocolate ,1small jar nutella,1cup raisins,1cup English walnuts melt chocolate in microwave add nutella, raisins, nuts blend well pour onto large cookie sheet spread set in fridge about 20 mins. until firm ,cut with pizza cutter and enjoy or share with friends and family
Thanks for your receipts, my girlfriend make for me, itโs easy and tasty. Thanks
Just tried and made these cookies ๐ cant wait to taste them
No bake dessert is the BEST kind of dessert. Especially during the summer. Love the video. You’re such a joy to watch, Rachel. ๐
Tried this recipe and very disappointed. The “cookies” never set – I even put them in the fridge for an hour – and left me with a tray of oat-studded goop you could only eat with a spoon.
That’s definitely not how they are supposed to turn out. Sounds like something went wrong.
I found if you cook the milk mixture slowly it sets better. I cook it on medium low heat. When I tried boiling the mixture on high heat is when I ran into the gooey mess.
