Just 7 ingredients and a few minutes is all it takes to put together these spicy Baked Buffalo Chicken Nuggets. Skip the drive through and bring the heat at home.
We eat a lot of homemade chicken nuggets in our house. The kids love them. The adults love them. Everyone is happy. In our house, we love a little heat, so I decided to do a fun variation on my standard chicken nugget and do a hot sauce version. We love it! Seriously, even the kids.
These can also be frozen unbaked and popped in the oven on a busy night. Add 5-10 minutes to the baking time. Ditch the drive through and give homemade chicken nuggets a try. You might fall in love.
I am a huge fan of Frank’s Buffalo Hot Sauce. It’s seriously the best. And no, they aren’t paying me to say that and I actually don’t have a working relationship with them at all (not for lack of trying). Still, I use their hot sauce in so many of my recipes because it really is the best.
Watch the video below where we will walk you through every step of the recipe with a video demonstration.
These are in the oven right now! I substituted the Red Hot with Louisiana hot sauce because it was 99 cents and I’m on a college kid budget :(.
It smells amazing!!!
Can you use Parmesan cheese you use to put on your spaghetti?
Are you referring to the kind in a can like Kraft sells? I suppose you could, but oftentimes those aren’t even real cheese.
I want to make these but do you need to use the parmesan cheese? If so i will have to wait
That what I’m wandering cause i have all ingredients except cheese and I’m not going back out but gonna try them anyway without
Salted or unsalted butter?
Salted
Just found your recipe for the Buffalo Chicken Nuggets online and they were a huge hit with both of my teenagers. boy(17) and girl (14). So quick and easy and they turned out great. I’ll try them out with our school swim teams this fall. Thank you!
These were great! I used half Italian seasoned breadcrumbs and half Panko and omitted the Italian seasoning. I also added a sprinkle of ranch seasoning packet to the breadcrumb mixture. Served with ranch and blue cheese, everyone loved them. I might try halving the amount of butter next time to cut calories, but at the end of the day it’s divided up between so much chicken they’re still pretty good for you!
These look delicious yet would they work without the butter?
They would cook, yes, but chicken breast is so lean the butter keeps it moist. They might be on the dry side without the butter.
My family loved them but I couldn’t have any because I can’t eat anything spicy. Is there any other sauce I can use for myself?? Congratulations on this fabulous recipe. Thank you.
You could leave out the hot sauce entirely and just dip in butter.
Thank you so much for this amazing recipe!! I tried it out tonight and t was a definite winner!!!!
We just made this recipe for a snack with our Daytona 500 and they are AMAZING!!! So so good!
I made these tonight, they were freakin awesome, great recipe.
