We eat a lot of homemade chicken nuggets in our house. The kids love them. The adults love them. Everyone is happy. In our house, we love a little heat, so I decided to do a fun variation on my standard chicken nugget and do a hot sauce version. We love it! Seriously, even the kids.
These can also be frozen unbaked and popped in the oven on a busy night. Add 5-10 minutes to the baking time. Ditch the drive through and give homemade chicken nuggets a try. You might fall in love.
I am a huge fan of Frank’s Buffalo Hot Sauce. It’s seriously the best. And no, they aren’t paying me to say that and I actually don’t have a working relationship with them at all (not for lack of trying). Still, I use their hot sauce in so many of my recipes because it really is the best.

Made these tonight using half the butter and no added salt. It was a big hit with the whole family

Do I need to use cheese or can I make them without it ??
You can make it without it, but you might want to add a tad bit more salt to account for the lack of the salt from the cheese.
My Husband loves hot sauce on everything and Jalapenos everyday . trying this tonight , going to make mine son’s plain without the sauce .
Ended up making them all with hot sauce mixture. Yum!!! My College boy is going to love these whenever he gets home for a weekend.

The butter adds moisture and fat since boneless skinless chicken breasts don’t have much to keep them moist.
I just made this tonight and I ended up with naked chicken nuggets. All the coating just pooled onto the baking sheet 🙁 it still was tasty, just had to roll the pieces of chicken on the sheet to pick up some of the coating. Not sure what I did wrong, I followed exactly
You may want to review the video to see how I did it because that isn’t what is supposed to happen at all. It sounds like you had way too much liquid on the nuggets and didn’t coat them correctly.
I have made this recipe half a dozen times. Most recently made it with full chicken breasts because I was too lazy to cut them and they still came out amazing. I love that this is baked instead of fries. Very delicious! Can’t wait to try your other recipes :0) my boyfriend asks for this at least once a week!
