Juicy thick cut pork chops are simple to prepare and the result can rival any traditional beef steak. I’m not even kidding! And they are way cheaper to buy too. I call them my secret weapon when it comes to feeding a crowd on a special occasion.
Making a perfect pork chop is completely easy. If you haven’t had a thick cut pork chop before, well, prepare to fall in love with pork chops. Those thin, flimsy chops you see all over the grocery store dry out easily and lack the complete flavor pork chops have to offer.
You can buy a thick cut chop at almost any grocery, but you’ll probably have to ask for it. Just head on over to the meat counter and ask for a 1 1/2 to 2 inch thick cut pork chop. If you’ve got a good butcher, they will probably smile at your request. Keeping the bone-in helps retain both flavor and moisture, and cutting it thick practically ensures a juicy result.
Have a smoker? I also have a post detailing How to Smoke A Thick Cut Pork Chop that you should check out. Smokers are an amazing way to cook almost any meat. If you don’t already have a smoker, you should seriously consider getting one.

Excellent and moist! Our local Aldi had 2โ pork chops this week, so I had to come up with a tasty methosof cooking. This recipe more than did the trick. Thank you.
I m anxious to try this recipe. Thanks
Perfect! Turned out great without having to babysit it!
Amazing. Unbelievable simple. Followed the searing and cooking time and it was done perfectly. My chops were boneless, 2โ thick. Donโt be shy on the salt and pepper or use a generous coat of Webberโs Steak and Chop seasoning.
Worked really well. I added Montreal Sreak seasoning, garlic powder and baked 1″ pork chops in oven for 15 min.
I put them for 22 mins at 350 only because my skillet is only oven safe up to 350. They were AMAZING.
These were terrific, next time I will make more than 2 and serve at a dinner party. I purchased my chops at Market Street in Allen and they are so tender and well balanced. Seared and then cooked in oven for 20 min. and prefect.
I made one chop because my husband and I are alone. This was fantastic!we will use this recipe many times.
So delicious, so simple and so delicious! Thank you!
This is so simple to do, but it makes the best pork chop I’ve ever had. I always over cook the thin chops and they are dry and tasteless. This recipe produces juicy, flavorful chops. Excellent
