I like chunky Apple sauce so when apples are tender I break up with a potato masher. I freeze in quart zip lock bags. That way I can lay flat in freezer and stack well.
This version sounds delicious. I have printed off and dried many of your recipes. When I make applesauce, I pull the stems, cut the apples in 1/2, then stew them down in a pan. Then I use my Kitchen Aid mixer with the colander and sieve to separate the sauce from the seeds and skins. So peeling!
Delicious!! We used our KitchenAid attachment to peel and core which made the apple prep super fast. We had about 7.5 pounds of apples from our tree, so we used 1.5 of the recipe. We left out cinnamon sticks in most of it, but added them to a few of the cans before we canned it so itโll have a taste of cinnamon for my husband. It was delicious even without any sugar. The whole process including canning took us about an hour and a half. I will say, it was my first time making applesauce and I was surprised how few jars we got out of it! 7.5 pounds of apples and we ended up with only 6 normal-size mason jars.
Iโm really not one for applesauce but this applesauce is the BEST EVER that I have tasted. My friends from my church gave my husband and I a lot of apples ๐ I really didnโt know what to do with them all, so some I was happy to share with my friends but I still had a lot and I didnโt want them to spoil. Due to the Covid 19 as many of us are at home I had time to try out a preserve, Iโve done preservatives before and enjoyed doing so but I never had done some applesauce, so I thought why not, well it was the best decision. This applesauce was so delicious that my husband loved it and he doesnโt care for applesauce. I used Granny apples with Envy apples ๐ I added optional add inn,s. It was sooo easy to make and the color is as described. I made 8pds. and I followed the instructions but I didnโt add to much of extra ingredients, it really wasnโt necessary because the taste was delicious. I didnโt have to use a lot of brown suger which either. I canned in a water canning bath. Thank you I look forward in trying out some more recipes
Stuck home because of covid19. Had too many apples and needed make something before they went bad. Turned out great . Thank you!!
I haven’t tried it yet but I will try to convince my husband to make it with me.
I made this tonight and it was so easy and turned out delicious! Thank you!
67 year old man made this and wife was happy. Happy wife happy life.
Delicious, I suggest letting it cool over night if you try it, that really allows the flavors to settle and the consistency comes out like store bought stuff after a night in the fridge. All in all great instuctions, I’ve never tried to make it before. I followed the instant pot instructions and it was super simple.
Thank you! My 10 year old daughter and 4 year old son are going to do this for a project and we are very thankful for the advice!
