Just 7 ingredients and a few minutes is all it takes to put together these spicy Baked Buffalo Chicken Nuggets. Skip the drive through and bring the heat at home.
We eat a lot of homemade chicken nuggets in our house. The kids love them. The adults love them. Everyone is happy. In our house, we love a little heat, so I decided to do a fun variation on my standard chicken nugget and do a hot sauce version. We love it! Seriously, even the kids.
These can also be frozen unbaked and popped in the oven on a busy night. Add 5-10 minutes to the baking time. Ditch the drive through and give homemade chicken nuggets a try. You might fall in love.
I am a huge fan of Frank’s Buffalo Hot Sauce. It’s seriously the best. And no, they aren’t paying me to say that and I actually don’t have a working relationship with them at all (not for lack of trying). Still, I use their hot sauce in so many of my recipes because it really is the best.
Watch the video below where we will walk you through every step of the recipe with a video demonstration.
What is the dip you used at end?
Bleu cheese dressing or ranch.
Looks great but you say buffalo sauce and your picture shows original, so which is it. from my view it is two different taste.
You can use either based on your own personal taste preferences.
I bet so!
Me love some spice:) Always assumed chicken nuggets was for the little ones, ’cause it’s just a little bland for my palate. But, these nuggets takes it a whole new level

I wanted it and I’m out of ink. Guess what?!!
It doesn’t take that long to hand write the 7 ingredients and the prep directions, the old fashion way!@
Imagine that !!! โก
7 ingredients takes no time at all to write them down plus before you know it, you can have hand written all the prep instructions as well, just as easy. โก
I haven’t found a bad recipe yet! Love that you share these yummy creations! Thank you!
Did you use Italian bread crumbs? Thanks!
No, I used plain bread crumbs.
I got Italian bread crumbs by mistake is that ok
You’ll be fine. Just use less of the Italian seasoning.
How long would you cook them for if you were to fry them?
I have not tested this recipe for frying so I can't tell you how the coating would fare during the frying process. Chicken nuggets are generally fried in 350 degree oil for about 5-8 minutes. Your actual cooking time will differ depending on the size of each piece of chicken. When frying I always recommend doing a test piece (or two or three) to see how long it will take.
The recipe calls for adding Italian seasoning, using Italian breadcrumbs will add more Italian flavor to it. You should be fine, and probably won’t notice a difference.
Your recipe is very original I love it ๐
What is the dipping sauce
Blue Cheese Dressing
Yum! What a creative recipe… love the addition of flaxseed and wheatgerm for some hidden nutrition!
I check your blog weekly for new recipes because I love them so much! Thanks for being both creative and healthy!
Aww thanks! You totally made my day!
It would be nice if nutrition information was included with all recipes.
There are many reasons I don’t include nutrition information with my recipes. Since I’m not paying a lab to analyze every single recipe I make, any kind of nutrition information I included would be an estimate run by a computer program, and they are often wildly inaccurate. I’ve also seen too many people base their diets on counting numbers and developing incredibly poor relationships with food and that’s not something I feel I can participate in or promote.
I agree
RIGHT ON!!
