This Eggless Spaghetti Carbonara is the perfect way to get your carbonara fix without the eggs. And it’s ready in just 15 minutes so it’s the perfect weeknight dinner!
Spaghetti Carbonara is one of those classic pasta dishes that is straight up comfort food. Plus, bacon. Right? For some reason I have lots of friends who are a little freaked out by the thought of putting raw eggs into the pasta. While the eggs definitely get cooked by the heat of the pasta in traditional carbonara, they still get a little worried. Then there are the friends and family with egg allergies! I decided to come up with an egg-free version of spaghetti carbonara so that everyone can enjoy this delicious meal at my table.

Excellent recipe. We have egg allergies in the house and this was super easy to make up.
If, like me, you canโt justify the cost of a block of cheese to grate fresh ($40 here for the cheap stuff), and have to get pre-shredded, keep some of the pasta water aside. I found adding a little after the cheese helps prevent some of the unsightly clumps, and makes it a little creamier. Unsightly or no, though, still tastes great.
A new family favorite! My6 family thought this is better than spag. with Marina. Love love it! I added a little more cream, mushrooms and peas………….my mother said she could eat it everyday, and she is picky!
I could NOT remember where I saw this recipe and I’m so glad I found it again. We LOVE it!!
Great recipe! My boyfriend canโt have eggs and this was a perfect & easy recipe to scratch this itch. I will say, I only drained half of the bacon grease – thereโs so much pasta in this recipe if youโre feeling lazy, Iโm confident you could go without draining if youโre not watching calories. Also I added 1 cup of pasta water while mixing the cream & other ingredients before adding the bacon/parsley. I was satisfied with the outcome of the texture, but I know the extra bacon grease could have easily worked without sacrificing any dish quality. Thank you for the amazing recipe! Everyone came back for seconds and so will I as this is adding to my monthly rotation. ๐
I have been looking and looking for a version without eggs. Thank you so much, especially for the video walk through!
we added mushrooms and more garlic, but it was fantastic!!
We really liked the flavor and I am dying to find an eggless recipe that works for us BUT there was not nearly enough sauce. I only incorporated about 3/4 lb of the pasta and I wish I had put in less. Next time I will double the sauce. We also used fresh peas, which was delicious.
I’m allergic to gluten, chicken and eggs so this recipe is really awesome, I just changed the pasta to a gluten free one. Is so radio to make and tastes awesome! Like Aglio Olio! Next time I’ll try putting in the spaghetti water cause it became quite dry.
When I saw this recipe I thought hmmm I have all the ingredients…I’ve never had spaghetti carbonara before…Due to me health issues I did change this up just a bit…I used low sodium bacon…did not add additional salt but added pepper instead…I used half N half instead of the heavy cream and because I didn’t have spaghetti pasta I used fettuccine….This is definitely a keeper recipe….Thank you…It was very good…
I make this tonight and it is delicious! My son is allergic to eggs and I’ve missed making Carbonara for dinner. This is great. Thank you!
