Did you use unsalted butter?
I used salted, but you can use either.
This is a tasty and easy recipe (Iโve made other versions).
Iโm experimenting with a larger batch (4 lbs bacon). After adding the onions and brown sugar, Iโm transporting it to a slow cooker and letting it simmer with the lid off. Iโm hoping this will allow me to step away while itโs doing itโs thing! Iโll let you know how it goes.
Has anyone else done a slow cooker version of this recipe?
This bacon jam is amazing! I want to put it on everything!
This รญs soooooo goooooood! I’m drooling writing this. Good on a pizza, as a warm dip for Doritos. You name it! Thank you!
Do you drain the bacon grease before adding the other ingredients?
Nope!
This was the easiest recipe and it is absolutely the tastiest jam I’ve ever had. This is an indulgence not to be tampered with so people please don’t try and make a healthier version.
can you substitute another kind of broth? can’t use beef…
You could substitute chicken, it just won’t have the same depth of flavor.
I have never even heard of bacon jam before, but I bet it would be awesome on a piece of homemade bread warm from the oven. Yum!
