For the candied bacon, preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a jelly roll pan or large baking sheet with foil and spray with nonstick spray.
In a small bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup pure maple syrup and 1/4 cup brown sugar. combine the maple syrup and brown sugar, stirring until smooth. Dip each bacon strip into the syrup mixture, allowing the excess to drip off. Place the bacon strips in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the bacon is browned and crisp. Keep an eye on it towards the end to prevent burning. For regular cut bacon, reduce the baking time to 15 to 20 minutes.
Transfer the cooked bacon to a wire rack and allow it to cool completely. Once cooled, chop or crumble the bacon into small pieces.
Place 5 cups Rice Krispies cereal in a large mixing bowl and set aside.
In a medium saucepan, melt 1/4 cup unsalted butter over low heat. Add t4 cups mini marshmallows, stirring constantly until they are fully melted and the mixture is smooth (about 5 minutes). Pour the melted marshmallow mixture over the Rice Krispies cereal. Use a rubber spatula to stir until the cereal is evenly coated.
Gently fold in the crumbled candied bacon until evenly distributed throughout the mixture. Transfer the mixture to a lightly greased 8x8-inch pan. Use a piece of wax or parchment paper to press the mixture down evenly in the pan.
Let the treats cool completely at room temperature (about 20 minutes) or speed up the process by placing the pan in the fridge for 5-10 minutes. Once cooled, cut into squares and serve.
