Ingredients

  • cups whole wheat flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/4 cup milk or buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • ¼ cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 large eggs

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Whisk in buttermilk, honey, applesauce, and eggs just until combined.
  • Preheat a flat griddle over medium-high heat.
  • Scoop ¼ cup of pancake batter onto griddle. Let pancakes cook until bubbles form before flipping.
  • Cook other side until golden brown. Serve hot.
