Scrub each potato clean. Use a fork to poke 8 to 10 sets of holes in each potato's skin for ventilation. Rub each with a small amount of olive oil, then season generously with salt. Wrap each potato tightly in aluminum foil.
Place the wrapped potatoes on a baking sheet to catch any juice that may leak out. Bake for one hour, or until soft.
Carefully remove the potatoes from the oven and unwrap. Slice each potato in half lengthwise.
