Heat a large pot over medium-high heat. Add the sausage and cook until browned, about 8-10 minutes. Drain excess grease and return the pan to medium-high heat.
Add the onion and sauté until soft and translucent, about 5-7 minutes.
Add the garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes.
Reduce the heat to low and pour in the beef broth, tomato sauce, and diced tomatoes. Season with Italian seasoning, black pepper, and bay leaves. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer over high heat.
Once simmering, reduce the heat to medium-low and continue to simmer for 15-20 minutes.
Add the lasagna noodles and cook for an additional 15 minutes, until the pasta is al dente.
