Opt for low sodium canned beans to minimize the salt content in this dish. Make sure to perform a taste test towards the end to make sure it doesn’t need any more salt added.
What if I don’t have an oven-safe skillet?
Don’t worry if you do not have an oven-safe skillet. You can always use a regular skillet on the stovetop, and then transfer to an oven-safe baking dish when you’re ready to bake.
Storage and Reheating Instructions:
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. Reheat either in a skillet on the stovetop over medium-low heat, or in the microwave in 30-second increments until warmed through.

This was my first time trying Pork & Beans as it’s not a thing in Australia – but it should be!
This was so easy to make and sensational to eat. I didn’t have enough Tomato Sauce (Ketchup), so I used some of my Tomato Relish instead. It was fantastic, and I’ll definitely be making this again, thanks.
Easy to make, delicious 😋
We’ve made this recipe 3 times. We didn’t have any ketchup, so I substituted the same amount of tomato puree from our home grown tomatoes. It turned out so good I kept using tomato puree the next couple times.
I also used dried great northern beans, which I quick soaked an hour beforehand.
So if anyone wonders about those substitutions, they work great for me.
I’m going to soak my dry navy beans. How many ounces should I use to come out with 48 oz. of pre-cooked beans?
My dish came out fantastic!!! What happened to original “Stayathome chief” (no disrespect) I hope all is well
For the Instant Pot variety, would subbing pork loin for pork butt still be the same cooking time?
Thx
Great recipe! Delicious with hamburgers, hotdogs or brautworks.
